This book plots the history of joint transformations in genetics and society over the past 150 years. Three major systems for the production of knowledge and innovations emerge. Domestic sowing was succeeded after the Second World War by the system of planned genetic progress; researchers and civil servants, in conjunction with the industry, produced and regulated varietal innovation to modernise the "French farm". These regulations then gave way to the modern system of globalised genetic profit, the melting pot of GMOs.This work is intended for anyone concerned for the future of seeds, food and biodiversity.
