Summary

This document provides an overview of the reforestation of quarries after extraction (particularly large rock quarries), on the basis of three sources of information: files concerning reforestation experiments that took place during the years 1974-1990 within the framework of the "quasi-tax" management committee; articles and reports on recent methods of quarry reforestation methods practiced in the different countries of Europe, in Canada and in the United States; and a field survey phase concerning reforestation carried out during the years 1974-1990 and recent reforestation projects or those in progress. It is earmarked for all those people, whether they be quarry or logging operators, involved in the reforestation of large rock quarries.
