Il est depuis 2024 responsable d'un laboratoire côtier à l'Ifremerspécialisé dans le domaine des ressources et de l'environnement marin.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Since 2024, he has headed acoastal laboratory at Ifremer specializing in marine resources and the marineenvironment.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

This industrial sector is expanding andintensifying its operations in coastal areas, particularly in the tropics.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="Style7"><span class="Style2Car"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color: black;">This growth trajectory, based on practices and production methodsinherited from the 1980s, nevertheless poses numerous environmental, economic,and societal problems, calling into question the sector’s sustainability: theemergence of animal diseases and significant impacts on coastal ecosystems.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class="Style7"><span class="Style2Car"><span lang="EN-GB" style="color: black;">To better understand the sector’s current risks and challenges, theauthor reviews the experience gained in various regions of the world (NewCaledonia, Indonesia and Vietnam) regarding the links between shrimp farmingand the environment.
