Jet Proost has a background in rural sociology and extension science. In 1991 she joined the Department of Communication and Innovation Studies at Wageningen University as assistantprofessor. She specialises in environmental issues in agriculture as well as management of extension services. Her PhD thesis will be submitted in 2000, with a central focus on the social dimension of change processes towards more sustainable agricultural production systems. Besides her job at the university she works as a journalist and as an advisor on communication in agricultural projects.
