Paul Tréguer

Paul Tréguer is professor emeritus at the University of western Brittany (UBO, Brest). An oceanographer, he founded the European Institute of marine studies. He devoted a large part of his career to the Antarctic Ocean, directing or contributing to Antarctic programmes of both national and international scope. He took part in 7 oceanographic expeditions in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Ocean sectors, aboard the Marion-Dufresne, Polarstern or Polar Duke research vessels. During a cruise in the Sea of Ross (1990), he followed in the tracks of Amundsen, Scott and Shirase.
