Michel jacquot has devoted his career as a plant breeder to groundnut, maize and rainfed rice in Africa, mainly in Côte dé Ivoire. He directed a multidisciplinary programme on rice and, later, the commission for tropical plant breeding at CIRAD. He is nowretired.
