Niels Roling is a social scientist and currently Professor of Agricultural Knowledge Systems, Chairgroup Communication and Innovation Studies, Wageningen University. He is widely known for his work on extension theory, publishing extensively in this field. His broader interest in innovation processes and the management of voluntary change has taken him to many parts of the world as a lecturer, consultant and researcher. His current interests focus on social learning and multi-scale change in agriculture and natural resource management. He serves on the Boards of ISNAR, The Hague, and IIED, London.
