Summary

The "racism of intelligence", a threat posed by culturally dominant positions, is not merely the product of evil minds, but of accepted falsehoods. In the first section, the author, a social anthropologist, analyses the way in which these falsehoods emerge and take shape on both sides of the fence, using the example of the relationship between farmers and their social partners - a relationship he has been studying for over thirty years. The second section provides an anthropological perspective on knowledge for action, which the author expands on by invoking texts representative of the research currently being carried out in the fields of social science and cognitive theory.
