As economies in the South become increasingly liberalized, the development of family farms is being hindered by a lack of access to funding. Through its close contacts with the rural world and the institutional innovations it brings, microfinance is a possible solution. Cirad and the Cerise network have completed a research programme on this topic. The programme's closing seminar led to the creation of a forum for exchanges between the different stakeholders. This CD-ROM includes the results of the research programme and the minutes of the seminar.
