Summary

Did you know that germs can produce foodstuffs and medicines, destroy pollution, purify water and even help the police?... that a yoghurt contains 100 billion bacteria and your nose several million? Without them, there would be no humans, plants or animals. The CD-ROM, produced by a scientist from INRA, responds to the questions children might have, their parent's curiosity, and the needs of teachers keen to liven up their lessons. All the information (including very recent discoveries) has been validated by some 100 researchers. More than a hundred germs are presented using simple words, humorous drawings and funny stories. There are 800 striking photos illustrating the invisible beings that surround us (viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and single-cell animals). The CD-ROM also contains games (Boîtes à microbes, Supercrobes, and Microbatailles) to encourage users to think about the possible answers to the questions everyone has about germs.
